Floods – New Single ’98′

Floods are a post hardcore band from St Albans, Hertfordshire, who came bursting onto the scene in 2009 with their EP Cold Light. They begun their rise to fame on the local gigging circuit, and I was lucky enough to catch one of their early gigs at Club 85 in Hitchin. I was immediately struck by the band and knew they were one to watch. They had a solid stages presence with some true hardcore prowess. Their biggest crowd pleaser from Cold Light was the single Victory Road; the memorable bass-line makes the song instantly recognisable, and hopefully their new album will offer more of the same…

Floods have released a much anticipated preview with a single from the new album, which you can listen to and download from their website. The single is called 98, and after 3 years it’s proved well worth the wait. Floods have kept their unique flood-ness: it’s a mash-up of hardcore riffs, signature screams and melodic vocals. I’ve had the track on replay and can’t wait to see what the rest of the album has to offer!
