Last month, universities around the UK joined forces with the NUS for 16 days of activism against gender violence.
From 24th of November to 10th December, #ReclaimYourCampus aimed to raise awareness of violence against women and build relationships between students’ unions and local support services. Students were encouraged to lobby their universities to sign the pledge, in order to reform policies to protect students from sexual harassment and assault on campus.
The pledge covers various aspects, including: a zero tolerance on all forms of violence against women; specialist training for staff members; commitments to investigate student reports of sexual assault and harassment; and better sexual consent education.
