Earlier this month scientists from Mississippi, US, revealed that they had cured HIV in a baby whose mother was diagnosed as HIV positive. This proposed ‘miracle cure’ was hailed as a breakthrough in the battle to find a cure. Two years after starting treatment, tests show no trace of the HIV virus in the child’s blood.
In recent news doctors are warning that the cure may not be what it seems.
